Turquoise Necklace For Mother's Day - 4/25/2010

According to Wikipedia, "The United States celebrates Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May. In the 1880s and 1890s there were several attempts to establish a Mother's Day, but they didn't succeed beyond the local level. The holiday was created by Anna Jarvis in Grafton, West Virginia, in 1908 as a day to honor one's mother. Jarvis wanted to accomplish her mother's dream of making a celebration for all mothers, although the idea didn't take off until she enlisted the services of wealthy Philadelphia merchant John Wanamaker. She kept promoting the holiday until President Woodrow Wilson made it an official national holiday in 1914. The holiday eventually became so highly commercialized that many, including its founder, Anna Jarvis, considered it a "Hallmark Holiday", i.e. one with an overwhelming commercial purpose. Jarvis eventually ended up opposing the holiday she had helped to create. She died in 1948, regretting what had become of her holiday. In the United States, Mother's Day remains one of the biggest days for sales of flowers, greeting cards, and the like; it is also the biggest holiday for long-distance telephone calls."

We would like to wish happy and healthy Mother's day to all Moms!

We hope you will find perfect Mother's Day Gifts at our turquoise necklace store.

Finally the grey winter is gone and spring is in the air. Spring is perfect time not only to say good bye to cold weather, but also to our  boring winter clothes. Don't you just absolutely love the idea of wearing floral dresses paired with cute sandals and colorful accessories?! •  Your favorite pair of jeans.
  •  A simple white top.
  •  Chic brown sandals.
  •  Matching oversize bag.

Year 2010 - Turquoise Year - 12/14/2009

World standard provider for colors Pantone announced that Turquoise (Pantone 15-5519) will be the official color of year 2010. Turquoise is "believed to be a protective talisman, a color of deep compassion and healing, and a color of faith and truth" - say experts. In the press-release by Pantone dedicated to the occasion we read: "In fashion, Turquoise makes a statement that can look elegant and dressy in fine silk and gemstones, or casual and fun in cotton and athletic apparel. Because of its versatility, Turquoise is a great accent color in jewelry, purses, shoes, hair accessories and even nail polish for women, and ties, shirts and sportswear for men."

Emma Watson at the 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' New York Premiere - 7/20/2009

Emma Watson wowed the crowd in black and white leather dress by Proenza Shouler at the New York premiere of The Harry Potter. She looked edgy and glamorous at the same time. In my opinion she was definitely one of the best dressed at the evening.

While I would love to have this amazing halter dress in my closet, I must admit it's totally over my budget... So as usual I went to polyvore and recreated more affordable version.

To create this look I paired a black top with a white skirt and I think it really worked. When I first looked at Emma's pictures I thought it was a top and a skirt, not a dress. Judith Leiber Crystal-embellished animal-print clutch was entirely my idea, I couldn't find any pictures of her with a bag, well may be she didn't carry a bag at all:) I think zebra print adds interest and complements her outfit.

Katherine Heigl at the "Ugly Truth" premiere - 7/20/2009

Gorgeous Katherine Heigl completely disappointed me with her outfit and her hair at the Los Angeles premiere of The Ugly Truth... I guess brunette hair looked OK, I like her as blond better though, but the dress was total disaster... however I did love her multistrand pearl necklace, it was the one and only thing I liked about her.

So here are two sets that I made on Polyvore that were inspired by her look, I do think she would look much better in the dresses that I used in my sets but what you gonna do?! I'm not her stylist:)

How to Wear Patterns - 7/19/2009

I love wearing patterns, especially mixing different colored patterns together. According to nymag.com:

"Patterns Are Magical and clashing is an outdated concept."

Well, that sounds really good to me. Check out the sets that I created using different patterns. I think they are not over the top and are pretty much wearable outfits.

Patterns are great and you shouldn't be afraid to wear them. They add lot of interest and personality to the outfit. Another way to add patterns to your outfit is of course using pattern handbags and shoes. You can dress up the plainest outfit with the colorful pattern handbag or shoes and turn it into a very stylish and chick look. Some of my favorite patterns are stripes and leopard...

How to Wear Fringe - 7/19/2009

The latest trend in fashion is fringe anything, we've seen a lot of fringe on celebrities and fashion runways. From extravagant fringe dresses by Alessandro Dell'Acqua and Aquilano e Rimondi to sleek and chick looks from Jill Sander and Alexander McQueen, fringe has been definitely one of the hottest trends this season.

While all of these dresses are fantastic, they would be too lavish and expensive to wear for regular person like me and you, so I created some more accessible trendy looks with fringe.

Also be open minded when putting your outfit together. You could add flare to your outfit using fringe accessories and jewelry or always so popular fringe footwear.
